The awards were determined by a jury of 12 experienced automotive journalists and editors from major publications like Edmunds.com, Consumer Guide Automotive, and AutoWeek. Vehicles were assed based on the emotional connection they create with consumers and how they hold up against their competition.

Hyundai also hosted the 96th season and drive toward Super Bowl 50, including festivities in New England and a concert in the San Francisco Bay Area.
