In the United States, we tend to favor our family sedans and small crossovers. Compact, five-door cars aren’t usually seen as a top-seller here. In Europe, however, hatchbacks are the more popular choice. Hyundai, however, has faith that the hatch will bounce back, and they have a not-so-secret tool to facilitate this: the all-new 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Hatchback.
The new Elantra Hatchback recently made its debut at the Chicago Auto Show. It has a sophisticated, Euro-inspired appearance with sleek curves and a wider, longer, and lower body. At 55 cubic-feet of interior space, the 2018 Elantra GT Hatchback offers more room than its previous generations and any of its competitors.
The Elantra Hatchback will come in two different trims, the GT and the GT Sport. The GT will be equipped with a 2.0-liter engine good for 162 horsepower, while the GT Sport will have a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that boasts 201 horsepower. This peppy acceleration is a fun type of performance often associated with hatchbacks, and one that Hyundai hopes will draw more people towards the hatch.
In fact, Hyundai is anticipating the new hatchback to make up more than 15% of Elantra sales once it hits the market. We look forward to offering this new, modern hatchback at Rex Perry Hyundai and can’t wait to test drive it ourselves!

The Good Design Awards are an annual program in which the Chicago Atheneum: Museum of Architecture and Design, in addition to the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, recognize excellence in design in a variety of areas. For the 2015 ceremony, the panel of judges awarded Hyundai Motors with five Good Design Awards, marking the company’s consistent quality of design.
The four vehicles recognized by the awards include the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq hybrid and electric vehicle, the Tucson SUV, all-new Elantra compact car, and the Santa Cruz concept debuted at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The fifth award earned by Hyundai was in recognition of the company’s “Sculpture in Motion” art installation.
Thousands of international brands, manufacturers, and firms were evaluated by the awards program’s jury of architects, cultural leaders, designers, and experts across several different markets and industries. However, Hyundai Motors stood out from the competition by securing five Good Design Awards, attesting to the company’s skillful development and application of unique design philosophies.

Following its annual tradition of coming to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas with a tuned Hyundai, Bisimoto has unveiled its latest creation: a 700+ horsepower 2016 Hyundai Tucson. It’s the crossover to end all crossovers—and the craziest part is that the ridiculous power figure comes from the same 2.4-liter four-cylinder you can find in the stock Tucson at Rex Perry Hyundai!
The engine did receive extensive modifications, of course. Bisimoto added a turbocharger as well as a special ECU, and strengthened all the internals to ensure the engine could take the added stress. The group also added a six-speed manual (you know, just to spice up the driving fun) and ensured that the crossover’s newfound performance was reflected in its looks.
The Bisimoto Tucson features a much larger front grille—to provide more air to the equally colossal intercooler—as well as 19-inch wheels with R-compound tires, four-corner air suspension, a four-point roll cage, and a racing seat. We’ll get even more details—like whether it is front or all-wheel drive—at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas!
Getting in a car crash is one of the scariest things that can happen when you’re driving, so it’s important to stay calm and know what to do. Follow this guide on what to do when you get in a wreck and you’ll have a less stressful, safer experience.
First, prepare yourself before it happens by getting a vehicle safety kit to keep in your car and keeping your emergency information on-hand. Important documents include insurance cards and vehicle registration information.
At the scene of the accident, pull your car over somewhere safe. Call 911 in case you or other drivers are injured and to see if an officer needs to be present at the scene. Then, if you’re able, get out of your car and check on the other drivers.
Exchange information with any other drivers involve in the wreck so you can file an insurance claim later. You should take pictures of the accident scene for evidence when you file.
At Rex Perry Hyundai we want you to be as safe as possible in your vehicle. So, contact us for preventative service and repairs so you can be confident that your car is being taken care of.
